The objective of this study was to prepare a diagnosis of the business management engineering academic staff of the Tepic Institute of Technology (ITT), in order to identify its strengths and weaknesses, as well as propose improvement actions.
During its development, a detailed analysis was carried out of the professional profile of the 71 teachers who are part of the academic staff who teach classes in the Business Management Engineering (IGE) study program (PE) at the ITT, their non-teaching work experience , academic training, and both pedagogical and professional updating. A significant diversity of profiles was observed, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach necessary to address the different aspects of business management in a comprehensive manner.
Likewise, it was evident that participation in professional updating courses and pedagogical training has experienced a progressive increase throughout the years analyzed, indicating a continuous effort on the part of the institution and the teaching staff to guarantee quality education, however, recommendations were issued on the implementation of additional strategies for increasing and improving professional development.
In the development of this article, a complete and detailed vision of the current state of the IGE academic staff at the ITT is provided. The conclusions and recommendations derived from this study will serve as a solid basis for the development of strategies and actions aimed at further improving educational quality and program performance for the benefit of students and the academic community.
