Abstract

The past of women is of greater importance than the present, for this reason in the current article the book "the second sex" by Simone de Beauvoir, which was published in the year 1947, will be taken as the main theme, this book is classified as a theoretical starting point for feminist groups. The history of women seen from the eyes of Simone, the impact it left in Mexico and some notes from the legal perspective were analyzed. “You are not born as a woman; it becomes so”, a phrase that would be used in feminism, this also sums up the value of what is written, which serves as an inspiration for new changes.
