Abstract

Lean culture and change management complement each other to achieve the objectives of an organization, adapting to the needs of the environment and reducing dismissals in its processes. This project proposes the application of both methodologies to reduce the extra time of a paper manufacturing company. Its main results lie in the reduction of unloading times, overtime, and consequently operating costs. With the proposals, the unloading times of the product in the Closed Box will be reduced by 9.55 minutes and the platform by 8.7 minutes, favorably impacting the reduction of costs for overtime in a period of one year until it is currently null, in 2019 $96,250.00 where paid and for 2022 $0, which indicates the elimination of these costs by 100%. Different lean tools were used such as AMEF, SIPOC, and ISHIKAWA, achieving results in the productivity, competitiveness, and profitability of the organization, eliminating those activities that do not add value. At the end of the investigation, it is concluded about the main improvement tools that are possible to apply in the current lean change management method to optimize and stabilize its benefits in leadership, communication, and people, are the most important factors in an organization and its operations.
