Abstract

Summary: The diagnosis on the development of ecotourism on the beach "Las bocas" in the municipality of Huatabampo, Sonora, is one of the main sources of income for the town, because the inhabitants who are engaged in commerce do not have experience to carry out tourism in a sustainable way. The objective of this research is to evaluate how the behavior and effects of the beach ecosystem are manifested and to be able to determine strategies that enhance its development of ecotourism and carry out a situational diagnosis of tourism on the beach. The methodology is a field work aided in surveys directed at tourists with a sample of 231 people chosen at random, and in this way obtain objective answers in which strategies and some measures are designed to reduce the deterioration caused by environmental pollution. of the place. The areas of opportunity on which this research is based were, the decrease in visits, the scarce production and quality of the product that is extracted. Among the results obtained in the field work, these situations stand out since the lack of care and the deterioration that they present can be observed.
