This research identifies and analyzes psychosocial risk factors under the NOM-035-STPS-2018 standard in the Subdirectorate of Administrative Services in a Higher Education Institution in the State of Sonora. First, the background on psychosocial risk factors was analyzed, including key definitions and the regulatory framework that regulates these issues in Mexico, including NOM-035-STPS-2018. Next, the concepts related to psychosocial risk factors and work stress are further explored. Stress and its symptoms are analyzed, and concepts such as burnout and mobbing are addressed. In addition, the necessary bases are provided to understand the negative effects that these factors can have on the mental health and performance of workers. The methodology used for the research is based on a non-experimental qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using reference guides I and III. The sample selection process and the analysis of the results obtained based on NOM-035-STPS-2018 are explained. Finally, the findings of reference guide III, a risk map, and an analysis of psychosocial risk factors organized by categories and departments are included. The overall results allow us to identify critical areas that require attention and improvement in the work environment. The conclusions are based on the research findings, as well as the recommendations. Specific strategies are suggested to improve workload, work hours, work-family relationship, and leadership, with the aim of creating a favorable organizational environment that promotes the mental health and well-being of staff.
