This paper describes the results obtained from a training program aimed at evaluating a work plan that addresses the areas of opportunity previously identified, to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the teaching staff of the Industrial and Systems Engineering (IIS) educational program (PE) of a university in southern Sonora, by means of the ELI Method. The methodology applied was based on two instruments, the first was a questionnaire with open questions addressed to the head of the IIS PE and department head; the second instrument consisted of a Likert scale designed on a Google form addressed to the teaching staff of the IIS PE through which information related to sociodemographic factors and teaching competencies was collected, and the ADDIE Model was used as instructional design for its implementation. The results show a positive attitude on the part of the participants, about carrying out their work activities under a defined work methodology, as well as the need to adapt to digital tools attached to the educational task. In conclusion, the idea of the implementation of virtual intelligence in the educational sector to develop more advanced teaching strategies was distinguished.
