The contingency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic generated an unprecedented situation in Mexico and in the world, with the closure of educational centers, distance education was implemented where teachers and students have faced various challenges when teaching and receive classes online, this generated a shift in their educational practice, hence the need to carry out a diagnosis of the habits and motivation of the study and thereby determine the impact that the COVID 19 pandemic caused on the Industrial Engineering students of the Technological Institute of Huatabampo, the survey of study habits was used, which qualifies: the organization of the study, the study techniques and the motivation for the study. A comparison of the results between newly admitted students 2018-2021 and 2022 was made among the most significant results: study conditions such as lighting, space are not adequate, class preparation, study times are deficient due to the lack of need to work.
