Competitividad de las agencias aduanales de Nogales, Sonora. Un acercamiento desde la gestión empresarial

Competitiveness is a concept that can be defined from different levels to indicate the position of countries as well as companies and products in the market. The aim of the present research it is to study the micro level and focuses on internal factors through the tools of business management. The objective of this research is to determine the level of competitiveness of the customs agencies in Nogales, Sonora through the evaluation of internal factors derived from business management made up of seven dimensions. An adapted 31-item instrument was used to measure the competitiveness construct whose reliability was determined from a Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient of 0.919. The questionnaire was applied directly to personnel occupying managerial positions in 20 customs agencies that represent the total population. The main findings show that 70 percent of the customs agencies have a developed level of competitiveness, 25% with a semi-developed level and 5% with a low developed level, based on the management of their internal factors. The general results show consistency with the theoretical models and background studies.
