Work for the control of the Bemisia Tabaci with Fitopreparados of the Azadirachta Indica in the cultivation of the Phaseolus Vulgaris L. A look from the science, the technology and the society

Abstract

Food production is a priority in our country to achieve food sovereignty, and the use of science and technology plays a fundamental role in this. The cultivation of Phaseolus vulgaris L (common bean) is not immune to difficulties that limit its yield, with a high incidence of pests and diseases, highlighting the impact of Bemisia tabaci (whitefly). The bibliographic review confirmed the validity and importance of the topic since various national and international investigations have addressed the use of extracts from the seeds and leaves of Azadirachta indica (Neem tree) as a potential source of bioactive compounds susceptible to being used in the control of agricultural pests with excellent results. This research reveals the effects caused by Bemisia tabaci (whitefly) and the properties, advantages and disadvantages of using phytopreparations of Azadirachta indica (Neem tree) in important agricultural crops with excellent results; In addition, training activities are proposed for producers in the application of phytopreparations from the Azadirachta indica (Neem tree) to control Bemisia tabaci (whitefly). The work was carried out at the Javier de la Vega Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA), located in the municipality of Guáimaro, Camagüey province. The proposal seeks to promote the use of these extracts in agriculture and foster interest in the development of new formulations within the context of small-scale agriculture with the lowest possible environmental impact.
