The present research aims to assess the systemic competitiveness of electronic commerce among the APEC member countries during the year 2022, highlighting the critical importance of fundamental factors for its global development and performance. This study focuses on the effective utilization of information technologies, the appropriate implementation of these technologies, and the presence of ICT infrastructure that promotes the development of electronic commerce. To achieve this purpose, the Correspondence Analysis methodology is employed, allowing for the analysis of a wide variety of variables associated with electronic commerce across multiple economies within APEC. The results reveal that Mexico ranked twelfth among the 20 economies evaluated in terms of systemic competitiveness of electronic commerce within APEC for the year 2022. This position reflects Mexico's relative strength or weakness compared to other countries in critical aspects such as digital infrastructure, technological adoption capacity, and digital skills of the population, within the broader context of the Asia-Pacific region. This study significantly contributes to the understanding of the determinants of electronic commerce competitiveness at the regional level. In particular, it emphasizes the importance of investing in advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the development of digital skills to enhance the competitive position of countries in the electronic commerce market.
