The objective of this work is to analyze the productivity index of the agricultural districts of the state of Durango, as well as to identify the influence of the categories of education, age and gender. It was started from the alternative hypothesis that the mean distribution is different in the districts and between the categories. The Kruskal Wallis and Wilcoxon tests were applied to identify results in the districts with the highest and lowest productivity, as well as 129 structured questionnaires for producers. The results show that there are differences in productivity between district VI and district I. The results can be explained by the cultivation modality, in district VI 60% is irrigated and in district I only 24%, still when they coincide in the types of crops. No differences are found in the average productivity in relation to the categories. The results show that factors exogenous to the characteristics of the producer are those that have the greatest impact, it is shown that access to water is one of them.
