Abstract

Las generaciones millennials se han destacado por su afinidad con las nuevas tecnologías y la gran cantidad de información a la que están expuestas. Considerando el desafío para los agricultores, el objetivo de la investigación fue analizar las sucesiones familiares en pequeñas propiedades rurales pertenecientes al municipio de Tupã - SP. Más específicamente, buscamos relevar el estado del arte de la teoría de las generaciones y el proceso de sucesión familiar en la agroindustria y explorar las características generacionales de los propietarios y sucesores naturales que viven en el campo. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se utilizó como método de investigación un estudio de caso exploratorio en el área rural del municipio de Tupã - SP, que frente a la región de la Alta Paulista posee el mayor número de pequeños productores. Ante ello se realizaron 98 entrevistas y luego la sucesión familiar en las pequeñas unidades productivas, la disparidad de comportamiento entre generaciones, así como las expectativas de futuro de las generaciones contemporáneas relacionadas con la vida en el campo. Author Biographies

Giovanna Lorenzi Pinto, Texas State University

Ph.D student in Education Development at Texas State University. Master in Science (Agribusiness and Development), by UNESP / FCE - Tupã. Bachelor in Business Administration from UNESP / FCE - Tupã ; PIBITI scholarship holder (2018-2019); She was nominated for the Outstanding Scientific Initiation CNPq award (2018-2019). Master's dissertation: The millennial generation: professional perspectives of the successors of small rural properties in the municipality of Tupã - SP. She is currently a Research Assistant and Professor of Graduate Students at Texas State University. I work on the Texas State-funded project examining the impact of learning structure courses at community colleges in Texas, primarily coding qualitative and quantitative data, and part of our project includes examining syllabuses of research-based (learning-to -learn) at 4-year institutions. I am currently researching how cultural and family backgrounds influence students' decisions to go to college at rural, urban, and suburban colleges, and the similarities and differences between these decisions.

Luis Roberto Almeida Gabriel Filho, Universidade Estadual Paulista – UNESP

Graduated in Mathematics from FCT/UNESP (2000), Master's in Mathematics from ICMC/USP (2004), doctorate (2007) and postdoctoral (2011) in Agronomy/Energy in Agriculture from FCA/UNESP, and Free- Teaching in Applied and Computational Mathematics at UNESP (2015). He also held a post-doctoral internship in Energy at IST / ULisboa (2015) and was Visiting Professor at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia da Universidade de Lisboa (2019). He is currently an Associate Professor at FCE / UNESP and permanent professor at the Graduate Programs in Agribusiness and Development at FCE / UNESP and Agricultural Engineering at FCA / UNESP. He has been a CNPq research productivity fellow since 2014. He has experience in the area of Mathematics and Agricultural Engineering, with emphasis on Mathematical and Computational Modeling, Rural Energization and Irrigated Agriculture, working mainly on the following topics: Mathematical Modeling, Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiency and Intelligent Systems applied in Agricultural Sciences.

Renato Dias Baptista, Universidade Estadual Paulista – UNESP

Renato Dias Baptista: Associate Professor at the São Paulo State University (UNESP). Ph.D. in Communication and Semiotics at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo - Brazil. He earned an MS in Communication (UNESP) and BA in Psychology (USC). Researcher and professor of Business Administration and the Graduate Program at the School of Sciences and Engineering at UNESP. Besides many scholarly articles published in journals of business administration, communication, and culture, has 22 chapters of books. Member of the Editorial Committee and reviewer of scientific journals. Lecturer at companies, universities, and research institutions in Brazil and other countries. Previously, worked in the Human resources area in companies, columnist for Radio UNESP-FM on work topics, and collaborated in different media, such as the newspaper 'O Estado de S. Paulo', 'Estadão Noite', Jornal da Cidade, Observatório da Imprensa, Le Monde diplomatique Brasil, and Revista UNESP Ciência. His research interests focus on Culture and Organizational Communication, Local Culture, and Human resources.
